Participating seminar: Topological
Dynamics and Model Theory (MATH290D, UCLA, Fall 2016)
- Organizers
Artem Chernikov and Andrew Marks
- Time and place
Every Wednesday, 3:30 - 5:50pm
MS 6221
- Description
We will concentrate on connections between model theory and topological dynamics, in the context of the automorphism groups of omega-categorical continuous structures. The main reference is "Weakly almost periodic functions, model-theoretic stability, and minimality of topological groups" by I. Ben Yaacov and T. Tsankov. Before reading it, we will first discuss continuous logic following "Model theory for metric structures" by I. Ben Yaacov, A. Berenstein, C. W. Henson, and A. Usvyatsov.
